Dark moon ritual - Yoga Nidra meditation & Relaxation class online

4th July - 8:30-9:15PM GMT 9:30-10:15PM CET 3:30-4:15PM EST

Let go, relax & replenish your energy during the dark moon with Yoga nidra meditation

The Dark Moon Ceremony is where the magic happens! By honoring our need for deep rest, we here at Universal Movement recognise that the dark moon is one of the most important times of the lunar cycle.

As the dark moons energy and our personal energy levels are their lowest point, this is an opportunity to let go, surrender and reset, allowing us to unwind, relax and take some much need time out for ourselves. If we push ourselves day after day without giving in to rest during the waning and dark moon phase, it can lead to a continuous depletion of our physical and emotional reserves, culminating in exhaustion, particularly as the full moon approaches.

Take a pause and join us in honoring the significance of deep rest with this Yoga Nidra meditation led by Alexe, Universal Movement founder and methodology creator. This ceremony is a unique opportunity for us to rest and replenish while engaging in practices of restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra meditation, and letting-go visualisation techniques, guiding you to release and embrace renewal.

What are the benefits of this Yoga Nidra online class and how can I link this to Cancer season?

Cancer is the ruler of the breasts and stomach. Cancer represents comfort, self-care, and maternal energies. This sign is also ruled by the moon as is our internal emotions. Yoga Nidra can be profoundly beneficial for nurturing and balancing the both physically and emotionally.

Our relaxation and Yoga Nidra online class offer a range of benefits for both the body, mind and balancing our emotions including:

Here's how Yoga Nidra can benefit individuals born under the sign of Cancer:

✨ Emotional Healing: Cancers are known for their deep emotional sensitivity and may experience intense feelings. Yoga Nidra provides a safe space for Cancers to explore and process their emotions, fostering emotional healing and resilience. Through guided relaxation and visualisation in Yoga Nidra, Cancers can release pent-up emotions and find inner peace.

✨ Stress Reduction: Cancers may be prone to stress and anxiety due to their empathetic nature and tendency to absorb the emotions of others. Yoga Nidra offers effective stress reduction techniques, such as deep breathing and progressive relaxation, which help Cancers unwind and calm their nervous system.

✨ Improved Sleep Quality: Cancers value their home and family life, but may struggle with sleep disturbances due to worry or emotional turmoil. Yoga Nidra promotes deep relaxation and can help Cancers achieve better sleep quality by calming the mind and body before bedtime.

✨ Enhanced Intuition: Cancers are known for their strong intuition and gut instincts. Yoga Nidra can deepen this intuitive connection by quieting the mind and allowing Cancers to access their inner wisdom. Through practices like Sankalpa (setting intentions) and visualization, Cancers can strengthen their intuition and trust their inner guidance.

✨ Promotion of Self-Care: Cancers are nurturing by nature and often prioritize the needs of others over their own. Yoga Nidra encourages self-care and self-compassion by providing Cancers with dedicated time to relax and rejuvenate. By incorporating Yoga Nidra into their routine, Cancers can replenish their energy and better support their loved ones.

✨ Release of Physical Tension: Cancers may hold tension in their bodies, especially in the chest and stomach area, where they tend to carry their emotions. Yoga Nidra offers gentle stretching and relaxation techniques that can help Cancers release physical tension and promote relaxation throughout the body.

✨ Connection with the Inner Child: Cancers are often deeply connected to their inner child and may benefit from practices that nurture their sense of playfulness and creativity. Yoga Nidra allows Cancers to tap into their imagination and inner world, fostering a sense of wonder and curiosity.

Overall, Yoga Nidra provides Cancers with a nurturing and supportive practice that promotes emotional healing, stress reduction, improved sleep quality, enhanced intuition, self-care, release of physical tension, and connection with the inner child. What do I need for this dark moon Yoga Nidra meditation?

🗝️ Quiet Space: Choose a quiet and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed. Ideally, the room should be dimly lit or with the option to darken it.

🗝️ Yoga Mat or Comfortable Surface: Lay down a yoga mat, blanket, or any comfortable surface to lie on. You want to be able to fully relax without any discomfort. You can also do this practice on your bed for the ultimate comfort.

🗝️ Pillow & Blankets: Have a blanket nearby to cover yourself. During a relaxation practice, body temperature can drop, so it's essential to stay warm. Place a pillow under your head or beneath your knees for added comfort. This can help alleviate any strain on your lower back.

🗝️ Comfortable Clothing: Wear loose, comfortable clothing to allow for unrestricted movement and a sense of ease for this Yoga Nidra online class.

We invite you to join us in the ancient tradition of the dark moon practice, where women from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs have gathered for thousands of years. During the dark and new moons, we come together for shared moments of reflection, surrender, renewal, and the beautiful cycle of release and rebirth.

What benefits of Yoga Nidra have been scientifically proven, that you can experience in our Yoga Nidra online class ?

Are you someone who has struggled with traditional meditation practices? Perhaps sitting still and quieting your mind feels more like a challenge than a relaxation technique? If so, the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra may offer you the deep relaxation and rejuvenation you've been seeking. Listed below we'll reveal seven scientifically proven benefits of these practices, and you can read more about our Yoga Nidra online class and delve into the eight stages of a relaxing Yoga Nidra session.

💫 Stress Reduction: One of the most remarkable benefits of Yoga Nidra is its ability to reduce stress. By activating the parasympathetic nervous system, our Yoga Nidra online class shifts your body from the 'fight-or-flight' response to the relaxation response, leading to a decrease in cortisol levels and promoting emotional self-regulation. This can help you feel more in control of your thoughts and less reactive to the stressors of daily life.

💫 Lessened Anxiety and PTSD Symptoms: The calming effect of Yoga Nidra on the nervous system has been shown to reduce anxiety and emotional tension, particularly in individuals suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Clinical trials have demonstrated significant improvements in anxiety levels and emotional well-being after regular practice of Yoga Nidra.

💫 Improved Sleep Quality: Yoga Nidra induces a sleep-like state by stimulating brain waves associated with deep sleep. This makes it an effective tool for combating insomnia and improving sleep quality. If you struggle with falling asleep or frequently wake up during the night, incorporating Yoga Nidra into your routine may lead to noticeable improvements in your sleep patterns.

💫 Treatment of Chronic Pain: Many individuals with chronic pain have reported relief after practicing Yoga Nidra regularly. By promoting deep relaxation and releasing bodily tension, Yoga Nidra can help alleviate symptoms of chronic pain, such as inflammation and muscle stiffness. This relaxation of the physical body can also stimulate the immune system and break up energetic blockages, leading to a reduction in pain.

💫 Enhanced Cognitive Function: Over time our Yoga Nidra online class trains the brain to accept mental relaxation, which can help prevent cognitive decline as you age. By promoting mental clarity and reducing repetitive thoughts, Yoga Nidra enhances concentration, memory, and overall cognitive function. This improved mental clarity can lead to greater productivity and efficiency in daily tasks.

💫 Increased Self-Awareness and Presence: Through the practice of Yoga Nidra, individuals can gain deeper insights into themselves and their inner workings. The setting of intentions (Sankalpa) and the focus on the present moment during Yoga Nidra sessions can help foster self-awareness and mindfulness. This heightened awareness allows individuals to connect more deeply with themselves and their surroundings, leading to personal growth and self-discovery.

The scientific research supporting the benefits of Yoga Nidra is extensive. Studies have shown significant reductions in stress levels, improvements in sleep quality, and enhancements in overall well-being among individuals practicing Yoga Nidra meditation regularly. Additionally, changes in brainwave patterns have been observed, indicating a shift from active waking states to deeper, more relaxed states of consciousness. ✨🔮
